Vintage 1950s designer Trifari leaping frog brooch featuring faux pearl and ruby glass. On the underside of the brooch it has the makers mark 'Trifari Pat. Pend'. The frog was designed by Alfred Philippe of Trifari patented in 1952.
Trafari is an eminent jewellery company of the USA starting in 1910 to 2000. Celebrated jewellery designer Alfred Philippe who in c.1930 left Van Cleef & Arpels to join Trifari a New York based company who became the largest costume jewellery maker in the United States. It produced many styles and prices of jewellery, covering different designs with quality craftsmanship. Trafari also created real pieces of jewellery for private clients including Hollywood stars, Broadway musicals and the US First Lady Mamie Eisenhower for the Presidential Inaugural Balls of 1953 and 1957. A truly diverse jewellery brand.
